We have been keeping busy, as you will see in a minute. Eliza is learning at least one new word/animal sound each day. I really cannot keep track of everything she is doing because it is all happening so fast. Plus, I only recently noticed that she has been naming some stuff and I didn't realize it. For example: Apparently "water" has been "wa" for a while and I just noticed. LOL That would explain why she is yelling it over and over when I get water from the fridge dispenser. ha! We also have been very confused because she has learned some things that we have not taught her. She calls trains "choo choo" and we have only ever called them trains. She also learned the animal sound for monkey, and we have no idea from where. I also cannot tell you how many teeth she is getting in right now. I think it is at least 6, so she has been really temperamental. She will be fine all morning and then start with tantrums at lunch, I hope this passes quickly.
We had a little photo shoot one afternoon. She loves her new hat, but also sometimes hates it. The terrible two's have been happening for a while. Hat is a new word this week.
Here she is enjoying string cheese with Daddy. She has been saying "cheese" for a while. She knows where the cheese drawer in the fridge is and she will point and ask for it. However, sometimes she just likes saying "cheese" and sometimes she is actually hungry.
The next 3 pictures are from the 2015 World Championship Squirrel Cook Off. I nearly died when I found Squirrel Helper for sale. I also made sure to get a few pictures of the two of us. I hope this is a yearly tradition. I don't think we are running out of squirrels, so we should be safe.
I am not sure if I have posted this before, but this is Eliza's Giraffe named "Giraff-ie". We like to put it on our back and chase her around the house. haha She likes to lay her head on him and snuggle. Well as much as she snuggles.
This might be the last time we use her little outdoor water toys this year. I will miss this because it is a great way to get her wiggles out.
When she tries to dress herself. We both nearly died when she came walking in wearing her hat and wanting to change her shoes. One funny thing is that she calls shoes "shews", this is my fault because since she was little I have smelled her little feet and said "shew" to make her laugh. Sorry! I didn't know it would come back to haunt me. Ignore the toothbrush in the background, she carries it all over the house and we have to hunt it down every day. She loves to brush her teeth and she actually "brushes" them. Kids watch everything you do!
We went to the Bentonville Fair a few weeks ago and this is how Eliza preferred to travel. I believe it was because my phone was under there. She just climbed on in and made a little hammock out of it.
We live 2 minutes from the lake, but this was the first time we took her. She was having so much fun and we were like "why have we not done this before?". Eliza then proceeded to try and drown herself 100 different ways (even with her life vest). It was actually harder keeping her safe with it on because of the added weight and how she would flop around. Evidently, she does not understand how tall she is because she kept trying to go deeper and deeper. The water itself in the shallows was as warm as a bathtub, and we are glad she had fun.
When I say that I am "baby proofing" the baby proofing this is what I mean. I thought these doors were safe because she could not reach the handle. She is constantly making stools of everything she can move around. She is smart enough to know that she needs to unlock the door, so luckily I got to her before she figured that out.
I will miss this summer, but we will keep trying to make the best of every day.
